Glyphsmith Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Glyphsmith is a typography design game. It is built and published by Matthew Rascoff as an independent project. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app collects and what it does with it.

The short version

Glyphsmith does not collect any personal data. No analytics, no crash reporters, no advertising trackers, no account system, no server-side anything. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

What stays on your device

What Glyphsmith never sees

In-app purchases

The Premium Challenge Pack is a one-time non-consumable purchase processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Glyphsmith does not see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID — only the result of whether the purchase succeeded. Apple's privacy policy governs the payment side of that transaction.

Bundled fonts and credits

Glyphsmith bundles the UnifrakturMaguntia font for its Blackletter category. UnifrakturMaguntia is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 and the full license text is included inside the app bundle. All other fonts used in Glyphsmith ship with iOS itself and are credited to their respective foundries via Apple.

Children

Glyphsmith is rated 4+ and is safe for children of all ages. It contains no advertising, no third-party content, no user-generated content, no chat, and no links out of the app except to this privacy policy and to the GitHub support page. Because Glyphsmith collects no personal data of any kind, it is automatically compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the change will be reflected here, and the "Last updated" date at the top will move forward. Because the app collects no data, it is unlikely to change in any meaningful way.
